Eligibility CriteriaThe Doctoral Consortium is specifically designed for PhD students who have already established a solid framework and clear direction for their dissertation, yet have substantial research work remaining before defense.

Biography: Mehmet Sahinoglu received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara; M.S. from UMIST, Manchester, U.K.; and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Statistics from Texas A&M University. He served with the Department of Computer Science at Troy University, AL. He originated the Sahinoglu–Libby (SL) probability density function (1981), Compound Poisson Software Reliability Model (1992), Compound Poisson Stopping Rule Algorithm (1997), and the Security Meter (2005). He was a 2006 Microsoft Research Scholar on Trustworthy Computing Curriculum and authored Trustworthy Computing—Analytical and Quantitative Engineering Evaluation (Wiley, 2007). He is an elected Fellow of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and SDPS.
